Kearage Pass to Whitney

The passes coming in and out of the John Muir Trail have really added a dimension to our experience of completing this trail. It's funny but when your only taking your vacations in 1 week spurts your actually covering more sacred ground.

On this trip on the 1st night out of a 7 day trip, we had a bear and her cub come into camp and steal Homers food and totally smash all of mine. This was a realization of how UR sack food containers are not yet ready to replace the Garcias. After sleeping restlessly with one eye open and our shoes on - we decided that we would just split up our food with Homer and continue on. Homer ate fine. I ate mush with some dried bear blood mixed in (bear cut his mouth on the kevlar)

Lesson-we're probably taking to much food.
