John Muir Trial 2011
Yosemite to Donahue Pass - Duck Pass to Florence Lake
This was a 2 part trip for me that completed the John Muir Trail. Cheryl - who did the entire trail - and then some - put this complete trip together and did an amazing job of it.
At Yosemite we completed the Mist Trail Loop which was insanly faboulous from there we took a bus up to Glacier Point since we weren't able to get our permits out of Happy Isle - which is the official starting point for the JMT. This added extra miles but of course spectacular sceanery. A few days into the trip we did 1/2 dome which scared me to death. I turned around at the top of Donahue Pass to solo hike out then catch a bus back to my car. I spent two days in Mammoth then hiked back in over Duck Pass with Keith,Ray,Pat and Mitch.
Mitch, Ray, Pat and I hiked out at the John Muir Ranch trail intersection out to Florence Lake where Alma was nice enough to drive up many miles on a very crazy road to pick us up.
