Pacific Crest Trail 2009
Over New Army Pass and out Trail Crest via Mt.Whitney
The heading on this trip is PCT since for me it was all about the 7.5 miles that I hadn't done from New Army Pass to Crabtree Meadows and the only way was to go back over Trail Crest which was perfect since Bob wanted to bag Whitney.
Characters on this trip are: jo,Bob,AnnMarie,Cheryl,Ray,Mike,Mitch and Al(our adopted hiker).
We headed in on a Friday and about 3 miles in we ran into a hail storm which is were we met Al who had taken a wrong trail, he was alone since his buddies had all bailed out on the trip and he happened to be taking our same route (very unusual-I was a little leary) he turned out to be a wonderful addition to our adventure.
Mitch didn't meet up with us until the 2nd day and he really had to boogie in order to do so. We were very glad to see his smiling face.
Mike and Ray took an extra day to climb out so they are not in the photo at the top.
Our total mileage was 42.2 miles and our total elevation gain was 7,865'.
